Nickels for Nonprofits Program at Whole Foods Market benefits Bird Rescue
Shop at Whole Foods Market now through December when proceeds from
the Nickels for Nonprofits Program will be donated to Bird Rescue.
How
does this work? When customers shop at Whole Foods and bring their
own grocery bags, they have the option of either receiving
$0.05 per bag as a refund on their bill or donating that money to a participating recipient organization.
Help the birds by shopping at Whole Foods
during this time, bring your own bag and ask that your nickel be
donated to Bird Rescue!
Do you love birds? Your donation can help ensure the future of our area’s wild native birds.
Our long history of success rests on a foundation of concern and generosity from many people and businesses throughout the community. You can help ensure the future of The Bird Rescue Center’s rehabilitation and educational programs with your contribution.
• While it’s quick and easy to give with our online
donation program, when you donate directly to us with your check, we are able to make use of 100% of the dollar amount of your contribution.
• Visit our Support pages for more info on memberships, sponsorships, donations, bequests and other great ways to help the birds.

| Hours of operation |
Fall-Winter hours 9am to 5pm. The Center is open seven days a week, 365 days a year.
| Visitor Days |
Bird Rescue Center is open to the public on the first Saturday and third Sunday of every month (unless it’s a major holiday; if in doubt, give us a call at 523-2473). Come by and meet our 18 resident raptors. This is a unique opportunity to see these beautiful wild birds up close. Photography of the birds is permitted outside the residents’ compound.
Well-attended Raptor Lecture series
This year’s series, presented by BRC President Alida Morzenti, was well-attended. A sought-after expert in the field of Raptor Biology, Alida covered identification, natural history, migration, husbandry and falconry. This series of lectures is the first step for the volunteers entering the Center’s Raptor Program training (now underway) to learn to work with our resident birds.
This series is offered every Fall with new subject matter yearly. An easy way to hear about next year’s series is to become a member. Our quarterly newsletter keeps members up to date with all that’s happening at The Center.
